The most recent precompiled cygwin port of perl for B20. perl-5.005_62 is a development version of perl; if you want the stable version, use one of the perl-5.005_03 distributions below. This binary distribution was compiled on a stock B20.1 cygwin system (not a recent cygwin development snapshot). This page also contains links to several rpm's of precompiled perl modules.

A dynamically linked build of the stable version of perl. For B20.1.

A statically linked build of the stable version of perl. There are two binary distributions here: one is the plain perl, the other also contains a few common modules statically linked to the perl executable.

A few notes that apply to all cygwin-perl ports:

• If you decide to download the original source code from cpan.org, and use the patches provided here, you need to make sure that you set the CYGWIN environment variable to include 'binmode'. Otherwise, patch.exe will give really strange errors when you attempt to patch.
• Make sure, if '.' is in your path, that it does not precede /usr/bin or /usr/local/bin when building perl. Otherwise, when you 'make install', the file <perl-src>/INSTALL will be executed instead of /usr/bin/install, thanks to the case-insensitivity of the windows file system.
