Syncronys announces SoftRAM recall

  CULVER CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 18, 1995--Syncronys
Softcorp (OTC:SYCR) today announced that it will recall the current
inventory of SoftRAM95 for full credit or refund.

The Company also announced that it will offer a newly packaged
version of SoftRAM for Windows 3.1 and 3.11, which it believes can be
shipped as early as Dec. 22.

SoftRAM95 contains, on the same disk, separate versions for Windows
3.1 and Windows 95. The Company previously announced in October that
the version for Windows 95 was not delivering the expected RAM
compression to that operating system. This problem did not impact
the Windows 3.1 version of SoftRAM95, which according to a recent
Dataquest survey, continues to provide customers with high levels of
satisfaction. Despite this, the Company believes that attention
drawn by this problem has unfairly overshadowed the success of its
flagship Windows 3.1 version.

The Company initially addressed the problem by undertaking a
program to re-sticker all product in the retail channel informing
consumers that SoftRAM95 was suitable for Windows 3.1 only. As this
stickering program did not result in complete coverage of all
inventory, the Company decided to avoid any potential consumer
confusion by undertaking the recall of SoftRAM95 and shipping a new
SoftRAM version for Windows 3.1 only.

As previously announced, the Company extended its toll-free
customer support to a 24-hour, 7-day service and implemented a full
refund policy for any consumers unsatisfied with the product.

Work on the Windows 95 upgrade is progressing and management
anticipates concluding development in the near future. Syncronys is
committed to releasing this upgrade only after completing extensive
internal and independent testing. Once available, all registered
users automatically will be sent a completely new package with this
upgrade version, including two bonus CD-ROMs at absolutely no cost.
The Company will also post a patch on on-line services for SoftRAM95
customers to download free of charge.

The Company has been in contact with the New York Regional Office
of the Federal Trade Commission with respect to its inquiry into the
SoftRAM product line and will continue cooperating and working with
that office to resolve any consumer concerns.

Finally, as previously announced, the Company has been named in a
class action lawsuit relating to consumer complaints. A second
complaint has recently been received.
