If you downloaded the Samples file before January 13, 1998, then
you should download the file Errata.txt and apply the fixes listed
in that file.  

The files Samples.zip and Samples.tar.gz in this directory have
the fixes applied, so you don't need to reapply them.  However,
you might still want to read the Errata.txt file, because it
contains some hints for compiling the sample code.

The original, pre-January '98, files are in the sub-directory orig/ 
in this directory.
